Don't Lie.

Scott looked at the face of a girl whom he had been with for a long time. She was his childhood friend. She was lying on the hospital bed, unconcious. As Scott looked at her, love and sadness can be seen in his eyes. Worried that something bad might happen to her. "tina, please wake up." the words that he kept repeating in his mind, over and over again.

"Hey cheer up now. What's the matter?" A young boy wearing a blue baseball cap told his friend, looking at her, who was crying. "I'm fine." A little girl gave the same boy a fake smile. "Ahh, something's wrong, I knew it. Tina tell me." He insisted. But the little girl just gave him a smile, "nothing."

A girl waited under a waiting shed, it was raining too hard. Everything was dark. "Tina!" The girl heard her name. Left, right, it was her friend, Scott. The boy hurried to see her, he ran to the waiting shed quickly, with his uniform, dripping wet. But as soon as he got there, acted as if she didn't even hear his voice, nor knew him for who he was. "We need to talk..." He said trying to catch some air. "I thought I told you to leave me alone!" The girl shouted as she turned her back at him. "Tina, I can't do that!" Scott answered. Tina started walking away, she had her clothes wet by the time she set her feet out of the waiting shed.

"Hey, listen ok. Look I know that I made the wrong choice about telling you that I...like you....but...please, cant we just...have what we had before? FRIENDSHIP!?" Scott continued. Yuki stopped walking, "Look!" she turned around and faced him, "All I ask is for you to leave me alone! I'm sick and tired of this game. It can't be. You can't like a girl like me." She yelled, tears came falling from her eyes. Scott made his way to his friend and threw his arms around her, "I like you!...Why can't we be together?" He was crying.

"LET GO!" Tina pushed him, and Scott felt pain on his right cheek, she slapped him. "Can't you understand me? I don't like the way you treat me anymore, I'm not special. You just can't love me as someone else? I hate you!" Her voice was beginning to break up, she was crying real hard, but the rain could cover it. Tina turned her back at Scott and ran away.

Scott wanted to go after her but all he could do was watch her as she goes farther and farther. As Tina reached the sidewalk near her house, she felt pain on her left chest, her heart was aching. She couldn't breath. She placed her hand just at the place of her heart and tried to massage her chest, "It's ok. You can do it...just a few steps and...Ughr" She took a deep breath and started walking again, slowly, but her knees felt weak, she can't move anymore and that caused her to fall on the ground. Her sister got out the house eventually and helped her to stand up.

Scott took a deep breath and made his way to the wash room to wash the vase. There was silence. Even his loud breathing could be heard...As Scott went out the room, he went to the table near Tina's bed and took the boquet of roses.

"Scott," He heard a soft voice calling him. He turned to his right and found Tina, awake. "Scott, What are u doin here?." she said. Her voice was softer than before. Her friend smiled, "I...came here to...see you.." He replied. "Scott...I..." She felt so much pain on her chest again.

An angel

There was this little girl sitting by herself in the park. Everyone passed by her and never stopped to see why she looked so sad. Dressed in a worn pink dress, barefoot and dirty, the girl just sat and watched the people go by. She never tried to speak. She never said a word. Many people passed by her, but no one would stop.

The next day I decided to go back to the park in curiosity to see if the little girl would still be there. Yes, she was there, right in the very spot where she was yesterday, and still with the same sad look in her eyes. Today I was to make my own move and walk over to the little girl. For as we all know, a park full of strange people is not a place for young children to play alone. As I got closer I could see the back of the little girl's dress. It was grotesquely shaped. I figured that was the reason people just passed by and made no effort to speak to her.

Deformities are a low blow to our society and, heaven forbid if you make a step toward assisting someone who is different. As I got closer, the little girl lowered her eyes slightly to avoid my intent stare. As I approached her, I could see the shape of her back more clearly.

She was grotesquely shaped in a humped over form. I smiled to let her know it was OK; I was there to help, to talk. I sat down beside her and opened with a simple, "Hello"; The little girl acted shocked, and stammered a "hi"; after a long stare into my eyes. I smiled and she shyly smiled back. We talked until darkness fell and the park was completely empty. I asked the girl why she was so sad. The little girl looked at me with a sad face said, "Because, I'm different"; I immediately said, "That you are!"; and smiled. The little girl acted even sadder and said, "I know." "Little girl," I said, "you remind me of an angel, sweet and innocent."

She looked at me and smiled, then slowly she got to her feet and said, "Really?" "Yes, you're like a little Guardian Angel sent to watch over all people walking by." She nodded her head yes, and smiled.

With that she opened the back of her pink dress and allowed her wings to spread, then she said "I am. I'm your Guardian Angel," with a twinkle in her eye. I was speechless -- sure I was seeing things."

She said, "For once you thought of someone other than yourself. My job here is done;" I got to my feet and said, "Wait, why did no one stop to help an angel?"
She looked at me, smiled, and said, "You are the only one that could see me," and then she was gone.

And with that, my life was changed dramatically.

The coffee

He met her on a party, she was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he was so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to politeness, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me back home. Suddenly he asked the waiter: would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee.

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but, still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously: why you have this hobby? He replied: when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, I could felt the taste of the sea, salty and bite, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I will think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who still living there. Saying that, tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched. That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart.

"A man who can tell out his homesick, he must be a man loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home," she thought. Then she also started to talk, talked about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story. They continue to date. She found actually he was a man who meets all her demands: he was God fearing ,tolerant, kind hearted, warm, careful...he was such a good guy but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!

Then the story was just like every beautiful love story: the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life...And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked.

After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you, the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It's hard for me to change so I just go ahead. I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything..Now I'm dying, I am afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste..but I have the salty coffee for my whole life since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life.

If I can live for the second time, I still want to know you and have you as my whole life wife, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again."

Her tears made the letter totally wet. Someday, someone asked her: What's the taste of salty coffee?

It's sweet. She replied.

Father's Day Special

A Father's Hands

Her  Dad, some ninety plus years now, sat feebly on the patio bench. He didn't move, just sat with his head down staring at his hands. She sat down beside him. He didn't acknowledge her presence and the longer He sat she wondered if he was okay.

Finally, not really wanting to disturb him but wanting to check on him at the same time, she asked him if he was okay. He raised his head and looked at her and smiled.
Yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking, he said in a clear strong voice. I didn't mean to disturb you, Dad, but you were just sitting there staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were alright.""Have you ever looked at your hands?" he asked. "I mean really looked at your hands?

She slowly opened her hands and stared down at them. She turned them over, palms up and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as she tried to figure out the point he was making. Dad smiled and related this story: "Stop and think for a moment about the hands I have, how they have served you well throughout your years. These hands, though wrinkled, shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all his life to reach out and grab and embrace life."

"They braced and caught your fall when as a toddler you crashed upon the floor. They put food in your mouth and clothes on your back. As a child your mother taught you to fold them in prayer. They tied your shoes and pulled on your boots. They dried the tears of my children and caressed the love of my life. They wiped my tears when my son went off to war."

"They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent. They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold you as a newborn daughter. Decorated with my wedding band they showed the world that you were married and loved ,someone special."

"They wrote the letters home and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and spouse. They have held children, consoled neighbors, and shook in fists of anger when I didn't understand. They have covered my face, combed my hair, washed and cleansed the rest of my body."

They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw. And to this day when not much of anything else on me works real well these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold in prayer. These hands are the mark of where I've been and the ruggedness of my life."

"But more importantly it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when He leads me home. And with this hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch the face of Christ." ----

After that day, she never looked at her hands the same again.
But she remembers God reached out and took her Dad's hands and led her home. When her hands are hurt of sore or when she stroke the face of her children and husband ,she thinks of Dad. She knows she has been stroked and caressed and held by the hands of God

A.L.I.CE AI Chatbot

A.L.I.C.E-Artificial Intelligence Chatbot

 A.L.I.C.E -Artificial Intelligence Chatbot

A.L.I.C.E or Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity is an award-winning artificial intelligence (A.I.) natural language processing chatter bot. It is a bot program that engages in a conversation with a human being by applying some heuristical pattern matching rules to the human's input, and in its online form it also relies on a hidden third person.

A.L.I.C.E is also one of the strongest programs and 'most human' of AI chat robot or chatbot, and has won the Loebner Prize three times (in 2000, 2001 and 2004) in AI competition. However the program is unable to pass the Turing Test or Imitation Game.

Richard Wallace started the development of A.L.I.C.E in 1995. In 1998, it was rewritten in Java. The program uses an XML Schema called AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) for specifying the heuristic conversation rules, which was published in 2001, and led more developers to contribute to the project. Alicebot, which is an engine or software agent of A.L.I.C.E, utilizes AIML.

Eliza will be glad to be your virtual friend. Eliza can help you with almost everything. It poses the questions of life, the universe, and everything. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
Perhaps Eliza can help you too...

Eliza, Artificial Intelligence Simulation

During the 1960s Joseph Weizenbaum created ELIZA. Eliza simulating a Rogerian therapist.
She passed a restricted Turing test for machine intelligence. Eliza was one of the first AI (Artificial Intelligence) programs and impressed many people who talked to her.

ELIZA created a storm of public interest in AI (Artificial Intelligence) as it helped thousands overcome their personal problems.

Artificial Intelligence is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science which aims to create it. It is a technology that enables machines to converse with humans in natural language.
Very soon, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will create a new form of life.

The simulation of ELIZA is a complete implementation of the program described by Weizenbaum.

My name is ELIZA: Perhaps I can help you...?
